 Embroidery

During my bespoke fashion textiles pathway, I specialised in embroidery to reinvent a charity shop garment using textile processes. Using digital (wilcom) and hand stitching/beading, I designed and produced geodes inspired by UV ray activated neon minerals.

I undertook a sustainable approach using second hand materials such as computer wire cabling, preloved fabrics and beads sourced from brand Preciosa, known for their sustainabilty strategies.

Tambour beading lessons occured during the project allowing me to learnt the basics of the technique. I am eager to refine these basics and start to learn more advanced tambour skills.

This gallery includes a variety of embroidery practices, for family, friends and taking part in Alexander McQueen embroidery challenges during lockdown. Illustration is a big part of my work, predominantly created in fineliner the next step for my designs is onto Wilcom digital embroidery software or exposed onto a silkscreen for screen printing.
